Meet Your Therapist

Hi there. Thank you for stopping by my profile. Though I would welcome a chance to meet you virtually, first, let me take a moment to introduce myself.
My name is Laura and I have had the privilege of supporting people seeking positive changes in their lives. Perhaps you're here because you too are searching for something - whatever that may look/feel/sound like. If this is true, let me welcome you into this phase of your journey. Sometimes it’s smooth to get here. Sometimes it's prickly, painful, uncertain, and messy. Sometimes it's a mixture of both. Regardless, I would like to honor where it is that you are.
As a practicing therapist, I have had the pleasure of being alongside individuals as they look to navigate life's complexities. Together, we create clarity out of your curiosities, rework patterns that no longer serve you in a current-day context, and revisit formative experiences, so that you can find your sense of self again.
Having experience supporting individuals navigating heightened states of anxiety, bipolar, ADHD, Borderline Personality Organization, complex PTSD, suicide ideation, addictions, and schizoaffective outcomes (to name a few), these difficulties often arise from experiences of relational disruption, abuse, sexual assault, life changes and transitions, and new diagnoses (to name a few).
In addition to utilizing Psychodynamic Psychotherapy through a trauma-informed lens, we can also leverage (though, do not have to) evidence-based practices like Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Somatic Integration to help find clarity amid the confusion.
In my therapeutic practice, I recognize that there is an internal motivation behind your desire to explore aspects of your life that may not be functioning optimally.
My role is to create a safe and curious space, and foster empathic connection so that you can delve into your unique experiences. Your role is to explore and express yourself free from judgment or shame.
Acknowledging that you are the expert on your own life, my client-centric approach encompasses various dimensions of inclusion. By exploring elements like different life stages (from childhood to late adulthood), cultural influences, social constructs, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, diversity, intergenerational dynamics, and family order, a greater understanding can be attained.
It can be through these elements that your personal narrative and identity have been shaped, including the triggers that may need healing.

I’m honoured to be a part of your healing journey, it’s a massive step to invest in yourself and your well-being, I take that very seriously and am ready to be that guiding force for you.
Working with me, you can expect a thorough exploration of the root cause(s) of your dysfunction; understanding where you’ve been, helping you process what is needing resolve, and an experience of that shift towards inner healing and balance.

Meet Your Therapist

Hello everyone and Welcome!
My name is Anna, and I am a Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Psychotherapist (Q) with many years of clinical experience, and I am here to help you and be your guide!
Coming from a Nursing background, I witnessed clients being "stuck" in their lives. These clients
felt lost, hopeless, helpless, discouraged and did not know how to continue living their lives.
We all feel these emotions at some point in our lives and carry the burden of everyday stress on our
shoulders. Sometimes, we have no one to talk to and we are scared that others will not understand and judge us.
My goal is to support you and offer a caring, compassionate, and foster non-judgmental, nurturing environment. Trained in the nursing model, I provide holistic approach and consider the whole person when addressing mental health issues. I consider person's lifestyle, background, family dynamics and other variables that can influence mental health.
I will be your guide and provide the skills necessary to cope with everyday challenges. This will ultimately help you to see a light at the end of the tunnel and re-discover new meanings in your life.
Access to counselling and prescription medication (if needed) does not involve long waiting times. I look forward to meeting you and starting our journey together to self-discovery and healing.
